Gir Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over approximately 1,424 square kilometres situated in the state of Gujarat, India. It is an abode of a large number of Asiatic lions. It is famous for Asiatic Lions. In addition, in this wildlife sanctuary numerous species of flora and fauna are found here. In the park 30 species of mammals many species of pests – mumps, 20 species of reptile and birds. The forest of Sasan gir national park was declared wildlife sanctuary in the year of 1969 later its area was expanded around 140.4 sq. Km and established as national park after six years. It has been now expanded around 258.71 square kilometres and the populations of lions has increased around 523 individuals comprising 109 adult males, 201 adult females and 213 cubs.

Somnath Mandir: Somnath mandir is one of the most popular and oldest temple in india located 46 kilometers away from Sasan-gir. Somnath comes to India’s most emirate temple but in 10th century it was robbed several times by armies of mahmud of Ghazni and it lost its attraction. Somnath mandir earlier known as ”LORD PATAN” and it is one of the twelve important Hindu shrines of Lord Shiva.
Attractions around the Somnath temple include Somnath Beach, Somnath Museum, Junagadh Gate, Bhalka Tirtha, Jama Masjid, Ahilyabai Temple, Bhadio Pagoda, Gir National Park, Chorwad Beach, My Puri and Port of Veraval.
Nalsarovar Lake: There are three water bodies in Sasan-gir, Nalsarovar one of them. It is home of many birds and migratory birds, which is also known as birdwatchers paradise. There also found one of famous species like pulp puppet, back,back cuckoo, eagle and many others. There is also a temple of “Lord Krishna” near from this lake.
Mahabat Maqbara: Mahabat Tomb is a big tomb of Nawab. It was architectural in the style of Indo-Islamic in 1892. This tomb has been testified as the best structure built in this architectural style among all other such structures in India.
Kankai Mata Temple: Kankai Mata Temple one of the most attractive place and it is 25km away from Sasan – gir. The thrilling expierence of vast Gir Jungle can be experienced during night with the roaring of majestic Asiatic Lions. As per forest the department norms only fifty devotees are allowed to stay at once during night.
Kamleshwar Dam: The Kamleshwar Dam – another important water reservoir situated within the boundary of Gir National Park. It was constructed in order to fulfill the water requirement within the park for surviving creatures. It’s pretty good view and sere ambiance attracts the tourists visiting the Gir Natioanl Park. It was built in the year of 1959 on the Hiran River. The tour to Kamleshwar Dam is complimented with Gir Safri tour.
