The first day of your historic architecture tour of Gujarat starts with your arrival at Baroda where our representative will take you to various attractions of the city like many famous art galleries, museums and many others. After that, leave for next place, Champaner which is a beautiful walled citadel built in 16th century. This attraction is also listed as world heritage by UNESCO. After visiting this Indo-Saracenic attraction, leave for the beautiful Panchmahals district and then, Chhota Udaipur where you will get to see beautifully made traditional houses, craft and art work of tribal people living there.
Next morning, leave for next destination that is Ahemdabad which is famous for many beautiful monuments. There are several ancient mausoleum and mosques of 15th or 16th century and all of them are the remarkable instances of Indo-Saracenic tradition of Gujarat. Here, you will love exploring the work of Luis Kahn and Le Corbusier. Moreover, a visit to Gandhi Ashram and other historical museum will surely add more to your knowledge and fun in your tour.
In the morning, get ready for an exciting walking tour to visit the ancient havelis in Ahemdabad. These havelis are famous for the beautiful woodcarvings. After a great time visiting havelis, set off for next destination and on the route, stop by Lothal which is a heritage site and an excavation of the Indus civilization dates back to 2400 to 1600 BC. At this place, you will love seeing sanitary drainage, town planning, pottery work, copper work, dockyards and standardised measures and weights. After a historical visit to Lothal, drive straight to the Palitana which is a beautiful family-run hotel located at Adpur.
In the morning, get ready to visit the beautiful Jain temple which is located on the Shatrunjaya Hill on Palitana. It is a beautiful complex comprising of 860 temples of Jainism. After a sacred visit to this complex, move to next destination – Diu where you will get a chance to see churches of 17th century and an ancient Portuguese Fort of 16th century. To stay in this place, you can stay at places like Radhika or Richie-Rich which are located around Diu beaches.
Next morning, be ready to a holy visit to Somnath and after that, drive to Gir National park to enjoy safari and other wildlife.
In the morning, a thrilling drive game is planned for you in the park where you will see the Asiatic Lions and other unseen animal and bird species. After that, depart for Junagarh where you will see attractions like Palace museum, Buddhist caves, royal mausoleum complexes and historical forts. Then, set off for next destination – Gondal where you will see the ancient Naulakha Palace which is an attraction built in 1748 AD.
Wake up in the morning as your drive to next destination – Dasada is scheduled where you can visit the famous village of artisans. After that, get a tour to the mini Rann of Kutch where you will see desert wildlife at the Jhijhwada village. In Dasada, you will get accommodation at Rann Riders resort.
In the morning, set off for Danta passes where you will find the greatest examples of ancient architecture of Chalukyan period in Sun Temple located at Modhera, the Patan’sstepwell, ancient Vadnagar monuments and Taranga’s ancient Jain temples. Here, you will enjoy your stay at Bhavani Villa which is a heritage hotel in Danta.
